A positive electrode active material for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery, according to an example of this embodiment, includes a lithium transition metal composite oxide which has a layered structure and contains at least Ni, Al, and Ca. The lithium transition metal composite oxide has a Ni content of 85-95 mol%, an Al content of at most 8 mol%, and a Ca content of at most 2 mol% with respect to the total amount of metal elements other than Li. In addition, the proportion of metal elements other than Li present in a Li layer is 0.6-2.0 mol% with respect to the total amount of metal elements other than Li contained in the composite oxide.

L'invention concerne, selon un mode de réalisation donné à titre d'exemple, un matériau actif d'électrode positive pour une batterie secondaire à électrolyte non aqueux, comprenant un oxyde composite de métal de transition de lithium qui a une structure en couches et qui contient au moins du Ni, de l'Al et du Ca. L'oxyde composite de métal de transition de lithium a une teneur en Ni s'inscrivant dans une plage de 85 à 95 % en moles, une teneur en Al inférieure ou égale à 8 % en moles, et une teneur en Ca inférieure ou égale à 2 % en moles par rapport à la quantité totale d'éléments métalliques autres que le Li. De plus, la proportion d'éléments métalliques autres que le Li présents dans une couche de Li est de 0,6 à 2,0 % en moles par rapport à la quantité totale d'éléments métalliques autres que le Li contenus dans l'oxyde composite.

実施形態の一例である非水電解質二次電池用正極活物質は、層状構造を有する、少なくともNi、Al、及びCaを含有するリチウム遷移金属複合酸化物を含む。リチウム遷移金属複合酸化物において、Liを除く金属元素の総量に対して、Niの含有量が85~95モル%、Alの含有量が8モル%以下、Caの含有量は2モル%以下である、また、Li層に存在するLi以外の金属元素の割合は、複合酸化物に含有されるLiを除く金属元素の総量に対して0.6~2.0モル%である。
