Systems and methods for early Channel State Information (CSI) feedback in New Radio (NR) are provided. In embodiments of the disclosure, CSI reporting is performed during a random access procedure to provide early CSI feedback and enable more efficient data transmission with higher spectral efficiency in earlier communications. In some examples, CSI reporting can be reported on Message 3 of the random access procedure after measuring channel and/or interference on a CSI Reference Signal (RS) (CSI-RS) during the random access procedure. The proposed solution allows early CSI to be triggered when a User Equipment (UE) performs initial access to a serving cell. With the early CSI acquired, the network can perform proper link adaptation including Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) precoding, and ensure efficient data transmission without having to wait until connection setup and configuration of the CSI framework is established.

L'invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés destinés à une rétroaction d'informations d'état de canal précoce (CSI) dans une nouvelle radio (NR). Dans des modes de réalisation de l'invention, un rapport de CSI est effectué pendant une procédure d'accès aléatoire pour fournir une rétroaction de CSI précoce et permettre une transmission de données plus efficace avec une efficacité spectrale plus élevée dans des communications antérieures. Dans certains exemples, un rapport de CSI peut être rapporté sur le Message 3 de la procédure d'accès aléatoire après la mesure d'un canal et/ou d'une interférence sur un signal de référence de CSI (RS) (CSI-RS) pendant la procédure d'accès aléatoire. La solution proposée permet de déclencher des CSI précoces lorsqu'un équipement utilisateur (UE) effectue un accès initial à une cellule de desserte. Au moyen des CSI précoces acquises, le réseau peut effectuer une adaptation de liaison appropriée comprenant un précodage entrée multiple sortie multiple (MIMO) et assurer une transmission de données efficace sans avoir à attendre jusqu'à ce que l'établissement de la connexion et la configuration du cadre de CSI soient établis.
