Systems and methods are described for isolating a sample at a valve prior to introduction to an analysis system, such as sample analysis via ICP-MS. A system embodiment can include, but is not limited to, a valve system including a first valve in fluid communication with a sample reservoir and a second valve configured to permit and block access of a vacuum source to the first valve; a sensor system configured to detect presence or absence of a fluid at the first valve: and a controller configured to control operation of the second valve to block access of the vacuum source to the first valve upon detection of the fluid at the first valve to isolate the fluid within the sample reservoir.

La présente invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés pour isoler un échantillon au niveau d’une vanne avant son introduction dans un système d’analyse, tel qu’une analyse d’échantillon via ICP-MS. Un mode de réalisation du système peut comprendre, mais sans y être limité, un système de vannes comprenant une première vanne en communication fluidique avec un réservoir d’échantillon et une seconde vanne configurée pour permettre et bloquer un accès d’une source de vide à la première vanne ; un système de capteurs configuré pour détecter la présence ou l’absence d’un fluide au niveau de la première vanne ; et un contrôleur configuré pour commander le fonctionnement de la seconde vanne pour bloquer l’accès à la source de vide à la première vanne lors de la détection du fluide au niveau de la première vanne pour isoler le fluide dans le réservoir d’échantillon.
