An injector (20) comprises: a housing (30) having a cylindrical shape; a needle (50) having a valve element (52) for opening and closing an injection hole; a movable core (42) for moving the needle; a coil (44) for generating a magnetic field that moves the movable core in a valve opening direction of the needle; a stationary core (41) provided on the side of the movable core which is opposite the injection hole; a first space (91) that is compressed when the movable core moves upstream and expanded when the movable core moves downstream; a second space (92) that is expanded when the movable core moves upstream and compressed when the movable core moves downstream; and an in-core flow channel (81) that is formed in the movable core and communicates between the first space and the second space, the in-core flow channel having therein a flow channel restricting member (82) that makes the flow channel cross-sectional area of the in-core flow passage smaller when the movable core is moving than when the movable core is not moving.
