Abstract

The present disclosure provides methods for increasing drought resistance, salt resistance, and biomass production of a plant. The methods encompass expression of DiGeorge-Syndrome Critical Region 14 (DGCR14) gene in the plant. In comparison to a plant not manipulated in this manner, the disclosed, genetically-modified, plants display improved drought resistance and salt resistance. Also provided are plants that can be obtained by the method according to the invention, and nucleic acid vectors to be used in the described methods.

La présente invention concerne des procédés pour augmenter la résistance à la sécheresse, la résistance au sel et la production de biomasse d'une plante. Les procédés comprennent l'expression du gène de la région critique 14 du syndrome de Di George (DGCR14) dans la plante. Par rapport à une plante non modifiée de cette manière, les plantes génétiquement modifiées décrites présentent une résistance à la sécheresse améliorée et une résistance au sel améliorée. L'invention concerne également des plantes pouvant être obtenues par le procédé selon l'invention et des vecteurs d'acide nucléique à utiliser dans les procédés décrits.
