An changeable lead-lag configuration of two isomerization reactors can be used to achieve continuous isomerization operations in an aromatics production complex, even if the isomerization catalyst deactivates over time to require catalyst regeneration and/or replacement. The configuration can be particularly advantageous for two liquid phase isomerization reactors, especially those operated under a high WHSV ≥ 5 hour-1 where the isomerization catalyst can deactivate at a high rate.

Selon la présente invention, une configuration principale-secondaire modifiable de deux réacteurs d’isomérisation peut être utilisée pour réaliser des opérations d’isomérisation continue dans un complexe de production de composés aromatiques, même si le catalyseur d’isomérisation se désactive au cours du temps de façon à nécessiter la régénération et/ou le remplacement du catalyseur. La configuration peut être particulièrement avantageuse pour deux réacteurs d’isomérisation en phase liquide, en particulier ceux mis en œuvre sous une WHSV élevée ≥ 5 heures- 1, le catalyseur d’isomérisation pouvant se désactiver à une vitesse élevée.
