Abstract

The invention relates to compounds and compositions for differential modulation of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) in various tissues or cell types. Further, the invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing one or more NAD-modulating compounds as an active pharmaceutical ingredient. The invention also relates to methods of making such compounds and compositions. Methods of using such compounds or compositions include administration of such compounds and compositions to promote the increase or maintenance of intracellular levels of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) in healthy cells and tissues thus improving healthy cell and tissue survival. Also included are methods of increasing or maintaining intracellular levels of NAD in selected cells or tissues while simultaneously reducing NAD levels in unhealthy tissue or cells thus reducing the survival of unhealthy cells and tissue.

L'invention concerne des composés et des compositions destinés à la modulation différentielle de nicotinamide adénine dinucléotide (NAD) dans divers types de tissus ou de cellules. En outre, l'invention concerne des compositions pharmaceutiques contenant un ou plusieurs composés de modulation de NAD en tant que principe pharmaceutique actif. L'invention concerne également des procédés de fabrication desdits composés et compositions. Des procédés d'utilisation de tels composés ou compositions comprennent l'administration de tels composés et compositions pour favoriser l'augmentation ou le maintien de niveaux intracellulaires de nicotinamide adénine dinucléotide (NAD) dans des cellules et des tissus sains, ce qui permet d'améliorer la survie des cellules et des tissus sains. L'invention concerne également des procédés d'augmentation ou de maintien de niveaux intracellulaires de NAD dans des cellules ou des tissus sélectionnés tout en réduisant simultanément les niveaux de NAD dans des tissus ou des cellules non sains, réduisant ainsi la survie de cellules et de tissus non sains.
