Abstract

A motion platform (2) comprises a base portion (6) and an occupant carrier portion (4). The occupant carrier portion (4) is linearly moveable along, and rotationally moveable about, first, second, and third orthogonal axes. The base portion (6) comprises first, second, and third control pillars (16, 18, 20) each extend along the third axis with a predetermined height. The control pillars (16, 18, 20) are linearly moveable in a plane defined by the first and second axes and are mechanically constrained to move only in that plane. The occupant carrier portion (4) comprises first, second, and third guide portions (28, 30, 32) that are pivotally connected to the first, second, and third control pillars (16, 18, 20) respectively by a respective coupling member (22, 24, 26). Each of the guide portions (28, 30, 32) is angled with respect to the plane defined by the first and second axes such that they are not parallel to the plane. The guide portions (28, 30, 32) are also angled with respect to each other such that they are not parallel with each other.

L'invention concerne une plate-forme de déplacement (2) comprenant une portion de base (6) et une portion porteuse d'occupant (4). La portion porteuse d'occupant (4) est mobile linéairement le long de premier, deuxième et troisième axes orthogonaux et peut effectuer un mouvement de rotation autour de ceux-ci. La portion de base (6) comprend des première, deuxième et troisième colonnes de commande (16, 18, 20) qui s'étendent chacune le long du troisième axe ayant une hauteur prédéterminée. Les colonnes de commande (16, 18, 20) peuvent être déplacées linéairement dans un plan défini par les premier et deuxième axes et sont contraintes mécaniquement pour se déplacer uniquement dans ce plan. La portion porteuse d'occupant (4) comprend des première, deuxième et troisième portions de guidage (28, 30, 32) qui sont reliées de façon pivotante respectivement aux première, deuxième et troisième colonnes de commande (16, 18 20) par un élément de couplage (22, 24, 26) respectif. Chacune des portions de guidage ( 28,30, 32) est inclinée par rapport au plan défini par les premier et deuxième axes, de sorte qu'elles ne sont pas parallèles au plan. Les portions de guidage (28, 30, 32) sont également inclinées l'une par rapport à l'autre, de sorte qu'elles ne sont pas parallèles l'une à l'autre.
