Method for an enhanced emergency call routing using an in-vehicle system in a country or a geographic region within a country being part of the coverage area of a mobile communication network, the mobile communication network having an access network. Use of locally available information (country location of the vehicle, time, availability of specific access network) by an in-vehicle system in order to optimize the routing (selection of the type) of an emergency call (among at least: ecall, voice emergency call, assistance voice call) by eventually correcting during an additional analysis the type of routing corresponding to an initially detected emergency situation.

La présente invention concerne un procédé pour un routage d'appel d'urgence amélioré à l'aide d'un système embarqué dans un véhicule dans un pays ou une région géographique à l'intérieur d'un pays faisant partie de la zone de couverture d'un réseau de communication mobile, le réseau de communication mobile ayant un réseau d'accès. Le procédé comprend l'utilisation d'informations disponibles localement (emplacement du véhicule dans le pays, temps, disponibilité d'un réseau d'accès spécifique) par un système embarqué dans un véhicule afin d'optimiser le routage (sélection du type) d'un appel d'urgence (parmi au moins : ecall, appel d'urgence vocal, appel vocal d'assistance) en corrigeant éventuellement au cours d'une analyse supplémentaire le type de routage correspondant à une situation d'urgence initialement détectée.
