Systems and methods for determining a contact angle of a catheter relative to tissue are provided. In one embodiment, a system includes a catheter with three or more electrodes, and a processor circuit in communication with the catheter. The processor circuit controls the three or more electrodes to emit a plurality of electrical voltages and to measure the plurality of electrical voltages. Based on the measured electrical voltages, the processor circuit calculates a first interelectrode impedance and a second interelectrode impedance. The processor circuit calculates, for each of a plurality of hypothetical i.e. model angles, a first hypothetical i.e. model contact force and a second hypothetical i.e. model contact force based on the first and second interelectrode impedances. The processor circuit determines and outputs the contact angle of the catheter based on a comparison of the first and second model contact forces calculated for each of the plurality of model angles.

L'invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés pour déterminer un angle de contact d'un cathéter par rapport à un tissu. Dans un mode de réalisation, un système comprend un cathéter présentant trois électrodes ou plus et un circuit de processeur en communication avec le cathéter. Le circuit de processeur commande les trois électrodes ou plus pour émettre une pluralité de tensions électriques et pour mesurer la pluralité de tensions électriques. Sur la base des tensions électriques mesurées, le circuit de processeur calcule une première impédance entre les électrodes et une deuxième impédance entre les électrodes. Le circuit de processeur calcule, pour chaque angle parmi une pluralité d'angles hypothétiques, c'est-à-dire de modèle, une première force de contact hypothétique, c'est-à-dire de modèle et une deuxième force de contact hypothétique, c'est-à-dire de modèle basées sur la première et la deuxième impédance entre les électrodes. Le circuit de processeur détermine et émet l'angle de contact du cathéter sur la base d'une comparaison entre la première et la deuxième force de contact de modèle calculées pour chacun de la pluralité d'angles de modèle.
