Abstract

An embodiment provides a method for measuring total chlorine in a solution, including: preparing a thiocarbamate indicator; introducing the thiocarbamate indicator to a solution, wherein the solution contains an amount of monochloramine; adding an additive to the solution, wherein the additive accelerates the reaction rate between the thiocarbamate indicator and monochloramine and causes a change in fluorescence of the solution; and measuring the amount of monochloramine in the solution by measuring an intensity of the fluorescence. Other aspects are described and claimed.

Un mode de réalisation de la présente invention concerne un procédé de mesure du chlore total dans une solution, comprenant : la préparation d'un indicateur de thiocarbamate ; l'introduction de l'indicateur de thiocarbamate sur une solution, la solution contenant une quantité de monochloramine ; l'ajout d'un additif à la solution, l'additif accélérant le taux de réaction entre l'indicateur de thiocarbamate et la monochloramine et provoquant un changement de fluorescence de la solution ; et la mesure de la quantité de monochloramine dans la solution par mesure d'une intensité de la fluorescence. L'invention décrit et revendique d'autres aspects.
