CLAIMS:

1. An assembly (100, 200, 300, 400, 500) for mounting a sensor (102, 202, 302, 502) on the skin of a subject, the assembly comprising:

a part (104, 204, 304, 404, 504) configured to contact with a first surface (106, 206, 306, 506) of a sensor unit (101, 201, 301, 401, 501) comprising the sensor when the sensor unit (101, 201, 301, 401, 501) is mounted in the assembly (100, 200, 300, 400, 500); and

at least one resilient member (108, 208, 308, 408, 508) extending from an outer portion of the part (104, 204, 304, 404, 504) and configured to bias a second surface (110, 210, 310, 510) of the sensor unit (101, 201, 301, 401, 501) against the skin of the subject when the sensor unit (101, 201, 301, 401, 501) is mounted in the assembly.

2. The assembly (100, 200, 300, 400, 500) as claimed in claim 1, comprising:

at least one resilient member (108, 208, 308, 408, 508) extending from the outer portion of the part (104, 204, 304, 404, 504) on a first side of the assembly and at least one resilient member (108, 208, 308, 408, 508) extending from the outer portion of the part (104, 204, 304, 404, 504) on a second side of the assembly.

3. The assembly (100, 200, 300, 400, 500) as claimed in claim 2, wherein:

the second side is opposite the first side.

4. The assembly (400, 500) as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein:

the at least one resilient member (408, 508) extends around a perimeter of the outer portion of the part (404, 504) and comprises at least one elongate aperture (418, 518).

5. The assembly (400, 500) as claimed in claim 4, wherein:

the resilient member (408, 508) comprises a plurality of ribs (408a, 408b, 408c, 508a, 508b, 508c) extending around the perimeter of the outer portion of the part (404, 504) and defining the at least one elongate aperture (418, 518).

6. The assembly (400, 500) as claimed in claim 5, wherein:

at least one of the plurality of ribs (408a, 508a) is coupled along a section of its length to the perimeter of the outer portion of the part (404, 504).

7. The assembly (400, 500) as claimed in claim 5 or 6, wherein:

at least one of the plurality of ribs (408b, 508b) is configured to be attached to the skin of the subject or is attached to at least one other rib (408c, 508c) that is configured to be attached to the skin of the subject.

8. The assembly (400, 500) as claimed in any of claims 4 to 7, wherein:

the at least one elongate aperture (418, 518) is configured to widen when the assembly (400, 500) is attached to the skin of the subject.

9. The assembly (100, 200) as claimed in any of claims 1 to 3, wherein:

the at least one resilient member (108, 208) comprises:

at least one flexure element (108);

at least one spring (208); or

at least one pleated structure (308).

10. The assembly (100, 200) as claimed in claim 9, wherein:

the at least one spring (108, 208) comprises at least one helical spring (208).

11. The assembly (100, 200, 300, 400, 500) as claimed in any of the preceding claims, comprising:

an adhesive member (112, 212, 312, 412, 512) extending around a periphery of the assembly (100, 200, 300, 400, 500) and configured to adhere the assembly to the skin of the subject.

12. The assembly (100, 300, 400, 500) as claimed in claim 11, wherein:

the adhesive member (112, 312, 412, 512) is configured to adhere the at least one resilient member (108, 308, 408, 508) to the skin of the subject.

13. The assembly (500) as claimed in claim 11 or 12, wherein:

the adhesive member (512) comprises:

a first protector (520) covering an outer portion of the adhesive member (512) around the perimeter of the adhesive member (512); and/or

a second protector covering an inner portion of the adhesive member

(512), wherein at least the second protector is removable.

14. The assembly (500) as claimed in any of the preceding claims, comprising:

a sealing member (522) configured to seal the assembly (500) with respect to the skin of the subject.

15. The assembly (100, 200, 300, 400, 500) as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein:

the at least one resilient member (108, 208, 308, 408, 508) is configured to bias the second surface (110, 210, 310, 410, 510) of the sensor unit (101, 201, 301, 401, 501) directly against the skin of the subject or indirectly against the skin of the subject via a coupling medium (114, 214, 514).
