The present invention relates to a QTL allele in maize associated with drought resistance and carbon isotope composition as well as specific marker alleles associated with the QTL allele. The present invention further relates methods for identifying maize plants based on screening for the presence of the QTL allele or marker alleles. The invention also relates to methods for modifying drought resistance and carbon isotope composition in maize plants.

La présente invention concerne un allèle QTL dans le maïs associé à une résistance à la sécheresse et composition d'isotopes de carbone, ainsi que des allèles marqueur spécifiques associés à l'allèle QTL. La présente invention concerne en outre des procédés d'identification de plants de maïs sur la base d'un criblage pour la présence de l'allèle de QTL ou d'allèles marqueur. L'invention concerne également des procédés pour modifier la résistance à la sécheresse et la composition d'isotopes de carbone dans des plants de maïs.
