Abstract
(EN)
A method for providing an enhanced contrast greyscale image (101) to a display device (102) is disclosed. The method comprises converting an input colour image (109) to a reduced colour image by mapping colour values (1102) of the input colour image (109) to palette colour values. The palette colour values represent clusters in a colour space of the input colour image. A conversion map (1100) is then generated by mapping the reduced colour image to a target greyscale image where the greyscale values are based on colour contrast between palette colour values. The conversion map is then applied to the input image to generate an output greyscale image (101) which is provided to a display device (102).

L'invention concerne un procédé destiné à fournir une image (101) en niveaux de gris avec contraste renforcé à un dispositif (102) d'affichage. Le procédé comporte la conversion d'une image (109) en couleurs d'entrée en une image en couleurs réduites en transposant des valeurs (1102) de couleur de l'image (109) en couleurs d'entrée vers des valeurs de couleurs de palette. Les valeurs de couleurs de palette représentent des amas dans un espace de couleurs de l'image en couleurs d'entrée. Une carte (1100) de conversion est ensuite générée en transposant l'image en couleurs réduites vers une image cible en niveaux de gris où les valeurs de niveaux de gris sont basées sur un contraste de couleurs entre des valeurs de couleurs de palette. La carte de conversion est ensuite appliquée à l'image d'entrée pour générer une image (101) de sortie en niveaux de gris qui est fournie à un dispositif (102) d'affichage.
