Abstract

A catheter system (100) includes a catheter (102) including an elongate body having an expandable medical device coupled with a distal end thereof, and an introducer sheath (200) assembly disposed over a proximal section of the catheter. The introducer sheath assembly includes an introducer sheath (204) disposed over the catheter to form a gap therebetween, and a tubular plug (206). The introducer sheath includes an elongate body defining a lumen therein. The tubular plug extends through the lumen and includes an elongate body extending from a proximal end to a distal end that protrudes from the introducer sheath distal end. The plug is disposed between the catheter and the introducer sheath to occlude the gap. The plug is releasably fixed relative to the introducer sheath such that the plug is removable from the lumen to allow the expandable medical device to pass therethrough.

L'invention concerne un système de cathéter (100) qui comprend un cathéter (102) comprenant un corps allongé ayant un dispositif médical expansible couplé à son extrémité distale, et un ensemble gaine d'introduction (200) disposé sur une section proximale du cathéter. L'ensemble gaine d'introduction comprend une gaine d'introduction (204) disposée sur le cathéter pour former un espace entre ces deux éléments, et un élément d'obturation tubulaire (206). La gaine d'introduction comprend un corps allongé délimitant une lumière en son sein. L'élément d'obturation tubulaire s'étend à travers la lumière et comprend un corps allongé s'étendant d'une extrémité proximale à une extrémité distale qui dépasse de l'extrémité distale de la gaine d'introduction. La fiche est disposée entre le cathéter et la gaine d'introduction pour occlure l'espace. L'embout est fixé de manière amovible par rapport à la gaine d'introduction de telle sorte qu'il peut être retiré de la lumière pour permettre au dispositif médical expansible de passer à travers celle-ci.
