An electronic apparatus performs a method of decoding video data. The electronic apparatus first receives, from a video bitstream having a hierarchical structure, a first syntax element associated with a first level of the hierarchical structure. If the first syntax element indicates that a joint coding of chroma residuals mode is enabled, the electronic apparatus reconstructs, from the video bitstream, chroma residuals for multiple chroma components of one or more blocks under the first level jointly according to a predefined scheme of joint coding of chroma residuals. If the first syntax element indicates that the joint coding of chroma residuals mode is disabled, the electronic apparatus reconstructs, from the video bitstream, the chroma residuals for the multiple chroma components of the one or more blocks under the first level separately.

L’invention concerne un appareil électronique qui réalise un procédé de décodage de données vidéo. L'appareil électronique reçoit d'abord, d'un train de bits vidéo ayant une structure hiérarchique, un premier élément de syntaxe associé à un premier niveau de la structure hiérarchique. Si le premier élément de syntaxe indique qu'un codage conjoint de mode de résidus de chrominance est activé, l'appareil électronique reconstruit, à partir du flux binaire vidéo, des résidus de chrominance pour de multiples composantes de chrominance d'un ou de plusieurs blocs sous le premier niveau conjointement selon un schéma prédéfini de codage conjoint de résidus de chrominance. Si le premier élément de syntaxe indique que le codage conjoint de mode de résidus de chrominance est désactivé, l'appareil électronique reconstruit, à partir du flux binaire vidéo, les résidus de chrominance pour les multiples composantes de chrominance du ou des blocs sous le premier niveau séparément.
