Abstract

An imaging system for a patient comprises an imaging probe. The imaging probe comprises: an elongate shaft for insertion into the patient and comprising a proximal end, a distal portion, and a lumen extending between the proximal end and the distal portion; a rotatable optical core comprising a proximal end and a distal end, and at least a portion of the rotatable optical core is positioned within the lumen of the elongate shaft; an optical assembly positioned proximate the distal end of the rotatable optical core, the optical assembly configured to direct light to tissue and collect reflected light from the tissue; a damping fluid positioned between the elongate shaft and the rotatable optical core and configured to reduce non-uniform rotation of the optical assembly; and a fluid pressurization element configured to increase the pressure of the damping fluid to reduce the presence of bubbles proximate the optical assembly.

L'invention concerne un système d'imagerie pour un patient comprenant une sonde d'imagerie. La sonde d'imagerie comprend : une tige allongée destinée à être insérée dans un patient et comprenant une extrémité proximale, une partie distale et une lumière s'étendant entre l'extrémité proximale et la partie distale ; un noyau optique rotatif comprenant une extrémité proximale et une extrémité distale, et au moins une partie du noyau optique rotatif étant positionnée à l'intérieur de la lumière de l'arbre allongé ; un ensemble optique positionné à proximité de l'extrémité distale du noyau optique rotatif, l'ensemble optique étant conçu pour diriger la lumière vers un tissu et collecter la lumière réfléchie à partir du tissu ; un fluide d'amortissement positionné entre l'arbre allongé et le noyau optique rotatif et conçu pour réduire la rotation non uniforme de l'ensemble optique ; et un élément de mise sous pression de fluide conçu pour augmenter la pression du fluide d'amortissement afin de réduire la présence de bulles à proximité de l'ensemble optique.
