A dewatering apparatus for cellulosic materials includes a chamber for an aqueous solution of a cellulosic material, an inner electrode in the chamber, an outer electrode in the chamber about the inner electrode, and a power supply connected to the inner electrode and the outer electrode applying a voltage potential across the electrodes to remove water associated with the aqueous solution and to dewater the cellulosic materials.

Selon l'invention, un appareil de déshydratation pour matériaux cellulosiques comprend une chambre destinée à une solution aqueuse d'un matériau cellulosique, une électrode interne dans la chambre, une électrode externe dans la chambre autour de l'électrode interne, et une alimentation électrique connectée à l'électrode interne et à l'électrode externe appliquant un potentiel de tension aux électrodes pour éliminer l'eau associée à la solution aqueuse et pour déshydrater les matériaux cellulosiques.
