Provided is a valve assembly and method for opening and closing thereof. The valve assembly, in one aspect, includes a valve body having inlet and outlet flow passageways connected by a valve chamber, and a ball valve member having a bore there through creating a ball/bore interface, the ball valve member located in the valve chamber for selective rotation between valve open and valve closed positions to control flow through the valve assembly. The valve assembly, according to this aspect, includes a linear actuation member slideable to engage proximate the ball/bore interface to assist in moving the ball valve member to the valve closed position.

L'invention concerne un ensemble valve et un procédé d'ouverture et de fermeture associé. L'ensemble valve, selon un aspect, comprend un corps de valve ayant des passages d'écoulement d'entrée et de sortie reliés par une chambre de valve et un élément de valve à bille ayant un alésage à travers celui-ci en créant une interface bille/alésage, l'élément de valve à bille étant situé dans la chambre de valve pour une rotation sélective entre des positions ouverte et fermée de valve pour commander l'écoulement à travers l'ensemble valve. L'ensemble valve, selon cet aspect, comprend un élément d'actionnement linéaire pouvant coulisser pour venir en prise à proximité de l'interface bille/alésage pour aider à déplacer l'élément de valve à bille vers la position fermée de valve.
