Described herein is a base oil synthesis via ionic catalyst oligomerization further utilizing a hydrophobic process for removing an ionic catalyst from a reaction mixture with a silica gel composition, specifically a reaction mixture comprising an oligomerization reaction to produce PAO utilizing an ionic catalyst wherein the ionic catalyst is removed post reaction.

L'invention concerne une synthèse d'huile de base par oligomérisation de catalyseur ionique utilisant en outre un procédé hydrophobe pour éliminer un catalyseur ionique d'un mélange réactionnel avec une composition de gel de silice, en particulier un mélange réactionnel comprenant une réaction d'oligomérisation pour produire de la PAO à l'aide d'un catalyseur ionique, le catalyseur ionique étant retiré après réaction.
