Abstract

A surgical instrument includes a body, a shaft assembly, an end effector, a clamp actuator, and a blade cooling system. The end effector has a clamp arm and an ultrasonic blade coupled with an ultrasonic transducer. The clamp arm is configured to selectively move from a first actuator position toward a second actuator position thereby directing movement of the clamp arm from the open position toward the closed position, respectively. The cooling system is operable to deliver fluid coolant to the ultrasonic blade to thereby cool the ultrasonic blade while the clamp actuator remains in the first actuator position.

La présente invention concerne un instrument chirurgical comprenant un corps, un ensemble arbre, un effecteur terminal, un actionneur de serrage et un système de refroidissement de lame. L'effecteur terminal comporte un bras de serrage et une lame à ultrasons accouplée à un transducteur à ultrasons. Le bras de serrage est conçu pour se déplacer sélectivement d'une première position d'actionneur vers une seconde position d'actionneur, ce qui permet ainsi de diriger le mouvement du bras de serrage de la position ouverte vers la position fermée, respectivement. Le système de refroidissement sert à distribuer un fluide de refroidissement à la lame à ultrasons pour refroidir ainsi la lame à ultrasons pendant que l'actionneur de serrage reste dans la première position d'actionneur.
