Abstract

A process for producing a polyol block copolymer in a multiple reactor system is described comprising a first and second reactor wherein a first reaction takes place in the first reactor and a second reaction takes place in the second reactor. The first reaction is the reaction of a carbonate catalyst with CO2 and epoxide, in the presence of starter and/or solvent to produce polycarbonate polyol copolymer and the second reaction is the reaction of DMC catalyst with the polycarbonate polyol compound of the first reaction and epoxide to produce polyol block copolymer. The product of the first reaction is fed into the second as crude reaction mixture, the epoxide and the polycarbonate polyol compound of the first reaction are fed in a continuous or semi- batch manner, and/orthe product of the first reaction has neutral or alkaline pH on addition to the second.The invention further relates to the copolymers and products incorporating such copolymers.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de production d'un copolymère séquencé de polyol dans un système à réacteurs multiples comprenant un premier et un second réacteur, une première réaction ayant lieu dans le premier réacteur et une seconde réaction ayant lieu dans le second réacteur. La première réaction 5 est la réaction d'un catalyseur carbonate avec du CO2 et un époxyde, en la présence d'un initiateur et/ou d'un solvant pour produire un copolymère de polycarbonate polyol et la seconde réaction est la réaction du catalyseur DMC avec le composé de polycarbonate polyol de la première réaction et l'époxyde pour produire le copolymère séquencé de polyol. Le produit de la première réaction est alimenté dans la seconde sous la forme d'un mélange réactionnel brut, l'époxyde et le 10 composé de polycarbonate polyol de la première réaction sont alimentés d'une manière continue ou semi-discontinue, et/ou le produit de la première réaction présente un pH neutre ou alcalin lors de l'addition au second. L'invention concerne en outre les copolymères et les produits incorporant de tels copolymères. 15
