Abstract

Providing energy to an energy consuming piece of equipment and/ or tool (43) during offshore operations. Use is made of a crane (2) comprising a substructure (21), a boom (22) mounted on the substructure, one or more hoist winches (25) and cables (26), as well as an object suspension device (3) suspended from the boom by the cables. An piece of equipment or tool is suspended from the object suspension device. An energy storage unit (32) is provided on the object suspension device and has an input connector (32i).The boom may be provided with an output connector (11o) of an energy charging unit (11) and in a lower supply position of the object suspension device it is disconnected from the input connector of the energy storage unit. The piece of equipment or tool is then run on energy supplied by the energy storage unit. Moving the object suspension device (3) to a charging position thereof by employing the hoist assembly of the crane brings the input connector (32i) of the energy storage unit (32) in close proximity of the output connector (11o) of the energy charging unit (11) which are then interconnected to charge the energy storage unit (32) from a separate energy source.

La présente invention concerne la fourniture d'énergie à un élément consommateur d'énergie d'un équipement et/ou d'un outil (43) pendant des opérations en mer. La présente invention comprend l'utilisation d'une grue (2) comprenant une infrastructure (21), une flèche (22) montée sur l'infrastructure, un ou plusieurs treuils de levage (25) et des câbles (26), ainsi qu'un dispositif de suspension d'objet (3) suspendu à la flèche par les câbles. Un équipement ou un outil est suspendu au dispositif de suspension d'objet. Une unité de stockage d'énergie (32) est disposée sur le dispositif de suspension d'objet et comporte un connecteur d'entrée (32i). La flèche peut être pourvue d'un connecteur de sortie (11o) d'une unité de charge d'énergie (11) et dans une position d'alimentation inférieure du dispositif de suspension d'objet, elle est déconnectée du connecteur d'entrée de l'unité de stockage d'énergie. L'équipement ou l'outil est ensuite alimenté en énergie fournie par l'unité de stockage d'énergie. Le déplacement du dispositif de suspension d'objet (3) vers une position de charge de celui-ci par l'utilisation de l'ensemble de levage de la grue amène le connecteur d'entrée (32i) de l'unité de stockage d'énergie (32) à proximité immédiate du connecteur de sortie (11o) de l'unité de charge d'énergie (11) qui sont ensuite interconnectées pour charger l'unité de stockage d'énergie (32) à partir d'une source d'énergie séparée.
