Abstract
(EN) An exhaust gas recirculation pump system for an internal combustion engine includes an EGR gas source and an electric motor assembly. A roots device is coupled to the electric motor. The roots device includes a housing defining an internal volume wherein the housing includes a radial inlet port receiving the EGR gas source and an outlet port expelling the EGR gas from the housing. Rotors are disposed in the internal volume and connected to the electric motor. A transmission housing is attached to the housing. The transmission housing includes journals formed therein receiving bearings that support the rotors on only a single end of the rotors.
(FR) L'invention concerne un système de pompe de recirculation de gaz d'échappement destiné à un moteur à combustion interne, le système comprenant une source de gaz RGE et un ensemble moteur électrique. Un dispositif Roots est couplé au moteur électrique. Le dispositif Roots comprend un boîtier délimitant un volume interne, le boîtier comprenant un orifice d'entrée radial permettant de recevoir la source de gaz RGE et un orifice de sortie permettant d'expulser le gaz RGE du boîtier. Des rotors sont disposés dans le volume interne et reliés au moteur électrique. Un carter de transmission est fixé au boîtier. Le carter de transmission comprend des tourillons formés à l'intérieur qui reçoivent des paliers destinés à porter les rotors sur uniquement une seule extrémité des rotors.
