The present disclosure provides a landscape/portrait screen orientation switching method for a frame TV and a frame TV, the method comprising: mounting two sets of relatively perpendicular microphone arrays on a frame of a frame TV, acquiring a sound signal using the two sets of microphone arrays, analyzing the acquired sound signal to determine whether the sound signal is a screen switching instruction, and if yes, switching the current screen to a display mode corresponding to the screen switching instruction. The method of the present disclosure can ensure that the normal voice acquisition function of the TV can be achieved in both landscape and portrait screen modes by providing horizontal voice acquisition units and vertical voice acquisition units that are perpendicularly distributed, and implement the landscape/portrait screen orientation control of the TV by means of received sound signals on the basis of the analysis of the sound signals, so that the intelligence of the TV is improved, and convenience is brought to users.
