A method of a mobile terminal for transmitting uplink positioning reference signals (UL PRS) to a serving base station and one or more neighbouring base stations in a 5G New Radio mobile communications system. The method comprising: receiving UL PRS configuration information from the serving base station, and transmitting the UL PRS to the serving base station and the one or more neighbouring base stations in accordance with the UL PRS configuration information, wherein the UL PRS configuration information includes an indication of one or more of: a timing advance for the transmission of the UL PRS, a transmission pattern of the UL PRS, a time domain placement of the UL PRS in available UL PRS resources, a quasi-colocation assumption for transmission of the UL PRS, and UL PRS beamforming alignment information

L'invention concerne un procédé exécuté par un terminal mobile pour transmettre des signaux de référence de positionnement de liaison montante (PRS UL) à une station de base de desserte et à une ou plusieurs stations de base voisines dans un système de communication mobile 5G New Radio. Le procédé consiste à : recevoir des informations de configuration de PRS UL en provenance de la station de base de desserte, et transmettre les PRS UL à la station de base de desserte et à la ou aux stations de base voisines d’après les informations de configuration de PRS UL, les informations de configuration de PRS UL comprenant une indication d'un ou plusieurs éléments parmi : une avance temporelle pour la transmission des PRS UL, une séquence de transmission des PRS UL PRS, un placement de domaine temporel des PRS UL dans des ressources de PRS UL disponibles, une supposition de quasi-colocalisation pour la transmission des PRS UL PRS, et des informations d'alignement de formation de faisceau des PRS UL.
