This optical member is provided with a light-transmitting member and a functional film covering the light-transmitting member. The functional film contains: photocatalyst particles which are activated by ultraviolet radiation; and a specific titanium oxide which is titanium phosphate or peroxotitanium. At least some of the photocatalyst particles form photocatalyst secondary particles 4. This method for manufacturing an optical member comprises a film formation step of forming, on a light-transmitting member, a functional film containing: photocatalyst particles which are activated by ultraviolet radiation; and a specific titanium oxide. The specific titanium oxide is titanium phosphate or peroxotitanium. At least some of the photocatalyst particles form photocatalyst secondary particles.

Cet élément optique est pourvu d'un élément de transmission de lumière et d'un film fonctionnel recouvrant l'élément de transmission de lumière. Le film fonctionnel contient : des particules de photocatalyseur qui sont activées par un rayonnement ultraviolet; et un oxyde de titane spécifique qui est du phosphate de titane ou du peroxotitane. Au moins certaines des particules de photocatalyseur forment des particules secondaires de photocatalyseur 4. Ce procédé de fabrication d'un élément optique comprend une étape de formation de film consistant à former, sur un élément de transmission de lumière, un film fonctionnel contenant : des particules de photocatalyseur qui sont activées par un rayonnement ultraviolet; et un oxyde de titane spécifique. L'oxyde de titane spécifique est le phosphate de titane ou le peroxotitane. Au moins certaines des particules de photocatalyseur forment des particules secondaires de photocatalyseur.
