Abstract

A method of separating and analysing a plurality of components in a heterogeneous sampleis provided. The method comprising the steps of:introducing a separation fluid into a separation channel that is elongate in a first direction; introducing the heterogeneous sample into said channel;separating, in the first direction, the components in the sample; introducing an auxiliary fluidinto said channel; creating a lateral distribution of the components in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction; anddetermining, sequentially, a property of each of the components based on the regimen by which the lateral distribution was created. An apparatus for separating and analysing a plurality of components in a heterogeneous sampleis also provided.

L'invention concerne un procédé de séparation et d'analyse d'une pluralité de composants dans un échantillon hétérogène. Le procédé consiste : à introduire un fluide de séparation dans un canal de séparation allongé dans une première direction ; à introduire l'échantillon hétérogène dans ledit canal ; à séparer, dans la première direction, les composants dans l'échantillon ; à introduire un fluide auxiliaire dans ledit canal ; à créer une distribution latérale des composants dans une seconde direction sensiblement perpendiculaire à la première direction ; et à déterminer, de manière séquentielle, une propriété de chacun des composants en fonction du régime de création de la distribution latérale. L'invention concerne également un appareil permettant de séparer et d'analyser une pluralité de composants dans un échantillon hétérogène.
