Abstract

The present invention relates to Aphanizomenon flos aquae, or Afa, compositions. Specifically, the present invention relates to Aphanizomenon flos aquae, or Afa, compositions comprised of lysed Aphanizomenon flos aquae, or Afa and to methods for providing the present compositions. The present compositions can be obtained by a method comprising a) growing Aphanizomenon flos aquae in a closed reactor comprising a growth medium at a light intensity of less than 100 μm/m2/s until a dry biomass of between 1 to 10 grams/liter is obtained; b) increasing the light intensity to more than 100 μm/m2/s or temperature to induce lysis of Aphanizomenon flos aquae biomass in the reactor; c) harvesting the lysed Aphanizomenon flos aquae biomass from the reactor thereby obtaining an Aphanizomenon flos aquae derived composition.

La présente invention concerne des compositions d'Aphanizomenon flos aquae (ou Afa). Plus particulièrement, la présente invention concerne des compositions d'Aphanizomenon flos aquae, ou Afa, constituées d'Aphanizomenon Flos aquae, ou Afa et des procédés pour produire les présentes compositions. Les présentes compositions peuvent être obtenues par un procédé comprenant a) la croissance d'Aphanizomenon flos aquae dans un réacteur fermé comprenant un milieu de croissance à une intensité lumineuse inférieure à 100 µm/m2/s jusqu'à ce qu'une biomasse sèche comprise entre 1 et 10 g/L soit obtenue; b) l'augmentation de l'intensité lumineuse à plus de 100 µm/m2/s ou la température pour induire la lyse de la biomasse d'Aphanizomenon flos aquae dans le réacteur; c) la récolte de la biomasse d'Aphanizomenon flos aquae lysée à partir du réacteur, ce qui permet d'obtenir une composition dérivée d'Aphanizomenon flos aquae.
