Es wird ein Stanzautomat mit in zueinander rechtwinklig in horizontale X- und Y-Richtung beweglichen Schlitten (1; 2) und einem daran festgelegten, in vertikale Z-Richtung beweglichen Stanzwerkzeug (3) eines Stanzzylinders (4) eines Stanzkopfes (5) zur Bearbeitung eines Multikontaktsteckers (6) mit unterschiedlicher Kontaktbelegung zur Verfügung gestellt, der ohne Unterbrechung arbeiten und dadurch eine Vielzahl von verschiedenen Werkstücken bearbeiten kann, ohne dass hierzu die Produktion unterbrochen und der Stanzautomat umgebaut werden müsste, was dadurch erzielt wird, dass das Stanzwerkzeug (3) aus einer einzelnen Stanznadel (7) besteht.
