A gearmotor includes a motor assembly including a rotor, a stator, and a stator retention apparatus; a gear assembly including an output shaft, an output shaft position indicium, and a gear system; and an electronics assembly. The rotor includes a rotor bearing and a rotor shaft position indicium. The retention apparatus abuts a stator core end face. The gear system includes a deformable gear defining an interior space, and a gear bearing coupling the rotor shaft to the deformable gear. The rotor bearing and the gear bearing are received within the interior space. The electronics assembly includes a magnetic sensor and rotation sensors radially spaced from corresponding ones of the position indicium. The retention apparatus includes an apparatus orientation feature that engages a core orientation feature to position the apparatus radially and arcuately relative to the core, and an electronics assembly support structure supporting and positioning the sensors.
