A method is disclosed. The method may comprise forming an image on a surface by controlled electrostatic transfer of a fluid print agent comprising thermoplastic resin disposed in a carrier fluid. The method may also comprise heating the fluid print agent on the surface to remove the carrier fluid and to melt the thermoplastic resin and allowing the melted thermoplastic resin in continuous areas on the surface to fuse together to form an image from fused print agent. The method may further involve providing a printed substrate bearing the image formed from fused print agent. The method may further comprise irradiating the printed substrate with an ultraviolet narrowband source so as to cause heating of the fused print agent to melt the thermoplastic resin. A print system and a print apparatus are also disclosed.

La présente invention concerne un procédé. Le procédé peut consister à former une image sur une surface par transfert électrostatique commandé d'un agent d'impression fluide comprenant une résine thermoplastique disposée dans un fluide porteur. Le procédé peut également consister à chauffer l'agent d'impression fluide sur la surface pour éliminer le fluide porteur et pour faire fondre la résine thermoplastique et à permettre à la résine thermoplastique fondue dans des zones continues sur la surface de fusionner ensemble pour former une image à partir d'un agent d'impression fusionné. Le procédé peut en outre consister à fournir un substrat imprimé portant l'image formée à partir d'un agent d'impression fusionné. Le procédé peut en outre consister à irradier le substrat imprimé avec une source à bande étroite ultraviolette de façon à provoquer un chauffage de l'agent d'impression fusionné pour faire fondre la résine thermoplastique. La présente invention concerne également un système d'impression et un appareil d'impression.
