A battery management device that manages a power storage element that has a shunt resistor connected thereto. The battery management device comprises: a current measurement unit that uses a pair of signal lines that are connected to either end of the shunt resistor to measure the current flowing in the shunt resistor; a connection line that connects the signal lines to a reference potential source via an opening/closing switch; and a determination unit that, on the basis of the change in the current measured by the current measurement unit when the opening/closing switch has opened/closed, determines whether there is trouble that could lead to failure of the connection between the pair of signal lines as mediated by the shunt resistor.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif de gestion de batterie qui gère un élément de stockage d'énergie qui a une résistance shunt connectée à celui-ci.
