Provided are: an effective and simple surface-modifying method for prolonging the life of a steel structure made of a steel material having a high sulfur (S) content; and a steel structure having a life prolonged by the surface-modifying method. This surface-modifying method is used to form a friction stir region in a surface of a steel material using a friction stir process, and is characterized in that the sulfur (S) content of the steel material is 200 ppm or more. The sulfur (S) content of the steel material is preferably 200 ppm or more.

L'invention concerne un procédé de modification de surface efficace et simple qui permet de prolonger la durée de vie d'une structure d'acier constituée d'un matériau d'acier ayant une teneur élevée en soufre (S) ; et une structure d'acier dont la durée de vie est prolongée par le procédé de modification de surface. Le procédé de modification de surface sert à former une région de friction-malaxage dans une surface d'un matériau d'acier à l'aide d'un procédé de friction-malaxage, et est caractérisé en ce que la teneur en soufre (S) du matériau d'acier est de 200 ppm ou plus. La teneur en soufre (S) du matériau d'acier est de préférence de 200 ppm ou plus.

硫黄(S)含有量が多い鉄鋼材からなる鉄鋼構造物を長寿命化するための効果的かつ簡便な表面改質方法、及び当該表面改質方法によって長寿命化された鉄鋼構造物を提供する。摩擦攪拌プロセスを用いて鉄鋼材の表面に摩擦攪拌領域を形成させる表面改質方法であって、鉄鋼材の硫黄(S)の含有量が200ppm以上であること、を特徴とする鉄鋼材の表面改質方法である。鉄鋼材の硫黄(S)の含有量は200ppm以上であることが好ましい。
