[Problem] To reduce the power consumption of an optical transponder. [Solution] This optical transponder is provided with: a client interface which transmits and receives a client signal; a line interface provided with a signal processing circuit which performs signal processing for transporting the client signal using a digital coherent system, and an optical transceiver which converts between the client signal and an optical signal; and a control unit for controlling the operation of the signal processing circuit in accordance with the bandwidth of the client signal.

Le problème décrit par l'invention est de réduire la consommation d'énergie d'un transpondeur optique. La solution selon l'invention porte sur un transpondeur optique qui est pourvu : d'une interface client qui transmet et reçoit un signal client ; d'une interface de ligne comportant un circuit de traitement de signal qui effectue un traitement de signal pour transporter le signal client à l'aide d'un système cohérent numérique, et un émetteur-récepteur optique qui convertit entre le signal client et un signal optique ; et une unité de commande pour commander le fonctionnement du circuit de traitement de signal en fonction de la bande passante du signal client.
