The present invention achieves a reduction in monitoring time without increasing the number of wires in a display device having an external compensation function. A pixel circuit 200(i, j) in the i-th row and j-th column comprises an organic EL element (display element) 21, a writing-in control transistor T1, a drive transistor T2, a monitoring control transistor T3, and a storage capacitor C1. A control terminal of the drive transistor T2 is connected to a data signal line S(j) in the j-th column via the writing-in control transistor T1. A first conduction terminal of the monitoring control transistor T3 is connected to a second conduction terminal of the drive transistor T2, and a second conduction terminal of the monitor control transistor T3 is connected to a data signal line S(j+1) in the (j+1)-th column.

La présente invention permet de réduire le temps de surveillance sans augmenter le nombre de fils dans un dispositif d'affichage ayant une fonction de compensation externe. Un circuit de pixel 200(i, j) dans l'i-ième rangée et la j-ième colonne comprend un élément EL organique (élément d'affichage) 21, un transistor de commande d'écriture T1, un transistor d'attaque T2, un transistor de commande de surveillance T3, et un condensateur de stockage C1. Une borne de commande du transistor d'attaque T2 est connectée à une ligne de signal de données S (j) dans la j-Ième colonne par l'intermédiaire du transistor de commande d'écriture T1.
