WE CLAIM:

1. A method comprising:

initiating, by a user equipment, a first countdown timer associated with a first initial value and a first timer-interval, and a second countdown timer associated with a second initial value and a second timer-interval;

determining, by the user equipment, whether at least one first indication is detected during the first timer-interval; and

adjusting, by the user equipment, at least one of the first countdown timer or the second countdown timer based on the determining.

2. A method of claim 1, wherein the first countdown timer comprises a channel occupancy time countdown timer, and the second countdown timer comprises an inactivity countdown timer.

3. A method of claim 2, wherein the inactivity countdown timer comprises a 3GPP Rel-15 inactivity timer.

4. A method of any of claims 1 to 3, further comprising: receiving, by the user equipment, at least one configuration associated with the at least one of the first countdown timer or the second countdown timer.

5. A method of any of claims 1 to 4, wherein the first countdown timer comprises a timer value of zero or greater.

6. A method of any of claims 1 to 4, wherein the first countdown timer is deactivated.

7. A method of any of claims 1 to 6, wherein the second countdown timer comprises a timer value of zero or greater.

8. A method of any of claims 1 to 6, wherein the second countdown timer is deactivated.

9. A method of any of claims 1 to 8, wherein the at least one first indication comprises one or more of at least one predefined signal.

10. A method of any of claims 1 to 8, wherein the at least one first indication comprises one or more of at least one predefined channel.

11. A method of any of claims 1 to 10, wherein the at least one first indication comprises one or more of at least one initial signal, wherein the at least one initial signal comprises at least one of wide band demodulation reference signal related to physical downlink control channel, group common-physical downlink control channel, or discovery reference signal physical broadcast channel.

12. A method of any of claims 1 to 11, further comprising: upon detecting the at least one first indication during the first timer-interval, resetting, by the user equipment, the first countdown timer to the first initial value.

13. A method of any of claims 1 to 11 , further comprising: upon not detecting the at least one first indication where the first countdown timer is greater than zero, decrementing, by the user equipment, the first countdown timer by a value equal to the first timer-interval.

14. A method of any of claims 1 to 11 , further comprising: upon not detecting the at least one first indication where the first countdown timer is zero, maintaining, by the user equipment, the value of the second countdown timer.

15. A method of any of claims 1 to 11 , further comprising: upon not detecting the at least one first indication where the first countdown timer is zero, determining, by the user equipment, whether at least one second indication is detected during the second timer-interval.

16. A method of claim 15, wherein the at least one second indication comprises at least one of downlink or uplink unicast data scheduling.

17. A method of claim 15 or 16, further comprising: upon not detecting the at least one second indication during the second timer-interval, decrementing, by the user equipment, the value of the second countdown timer by one unit equal to the second timer-interval if the value of the first countdown timer is greater than zero.

18. A method of claim 15 or 16, further comprising: upon not detecting the at least one second indication during the second timer-interval when the second countdown timer is zero, performing, by the user equipment, bandwidth part switching to at least one pre-defined

bandwidth part.

19. A method of claim 15 or 16, further comprising: upon detecting the at least one second indication, resetting, by the user equipment, the second countdown timer to the second initial value.

20. A method of any of claims 1 to 19, further comprising: upon detecting a third indication in group common-physical downlink control channel, deactivating, by the user equipment, the first countdown timer.

21. A method of any of claims 1 to 19, further comprising: upon detecting a third indication of a first value in group common-physical downlink control channel, decrementing, by the user equipment, the second countdown timer by one for each second timer-interval until at least one of the following occurs: 1) the second countdown timer is equal to zero, 2) the first indication is detected, 3) the second indication is detected, or 4) the third indication of a second value is detected.

22. A method of any of claims 1 to 19, further comprising: upon detecting at least one channel occupancy time duration indication in group common-physical downlink channel, setting, by the user equipment, the first countdown timer to the first initial value for each first timer-interval overlapping with the at least one channel occupancy time duration.

23. A method comprising:

transmitting, by a network entity, at least one configuration to a user equipment comprising a first countdown timer associated with a first initial value and a first timer-interval of a first time scale, and a second countdown timer associated with a second initial value and a second timer-interval of a second time scale;

transmitting, by the network entity, at least one first indication to the user equipment; and

transmitting, by the network entity, at least one second indication to the user equipment.

24. A method of claim 23, further comprising transmitting, by the network entity, at least one third indication to the user equipment.

25. A method of claim 23 or 24, wherein the at least one first indication comprises one or more of at least one predefined signal.

26. A method of claim 23 or 24, wherein the at least one first indication comprises one or more of at least one predefined channel.

27. A method of any of claims 23 to 26, wherein the at least one first indication comprises one or more of at least one initial signal, wherein the at least one initial signal comprises at least one of wide band demodulation reference signal related to physical downlink control channel, group common-physical downlink control channel, or discovery reference signal physical broadcast channel.

28. A method of any of claims 23 to 27, wherein the at least one first indication is configured to reset the first countdown timer to the first initial value.

29. A method of any of claims 23 to 27, wherein the at least one first indication is configured to decrement the second countdown timer by one for each second timer-interval until the second countdown timer is equal to zero.

30. A method of any of claims 23 to 29, wherein the at least one second indication comprises at least one of downlink or uplink unicast data scheduling.

31. A method of any of claims 23 to 30, wherein the at least one second indication is configured to reset the second countdown timer to the second initial value.

32. A method of any of claims 24 to 31, wherein the at least one third indication is configured to deactivate the first countdown timer and/or decrement the second countdown timer by a value equal to the second timer-interval.

33. A method of any of claims 24 to 31, wherein the at least one third indication is associated with at least one additional trigger received in group common-physical downlink control channel that is configured to deactivate the first countdown timer for all associated user equipments when the base station has no data to transmit and does access at least one channel.

34. A method of any of claims 24 to 31, wherein the at least one third indication is

configured to decrement the second countdown timer by one for each second timer-interval until the second countdown timer is equal to zero.

35. A method of any of claims 24 to 31 , wherein the at least one third indication of second value is configured to activate and/or reactivate the first countdown timer in response to a determination to activate and/or reactivate the first countdown timer.

36. An apparatus comprising:

at least one processor; and

at least one memory and computer program code;

the at least one memory and the computer program code is configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to:

initiate a first countdown timer associated with a first initial value and a first timer-interval, and a second countdown timer associated with a second initial value and a second timer-interval;

determine whether at least one first indication is detected during the first timer-interval; and

adjust at least one of the first countdown timer or the second countdown timer based on the determining.

37. An apparatus comprising:

at least one processor; and

at least one memory and computer program code,

the at least one memory and the computer program code is configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to:

transmit at least one configuration to a user equipment comprising a first countdown timer associated with a first initial value and a first timer-interval of a first time scale, and a second countdown timer associated with a second initial value and a second timer-interval of a second time scale;

transmit at least one first indication to the user equipment; and

transmit at least one second indication to the user equipment.

38. An apparatus comprising means for performing:

initiating a first countdown timer associated with a first initial value and a first timer-interval, and a second countdown timer associated with a second initial value and a second

timer-interval;

determining whether at least one first indication is detected during the first timer-interval; and

adjusting at least one of the first countdown timer or the second countdown timer based on the determining.

39. An apparatus comprising means for performing:

transmitting at least one configuration to a user equipment comprising a first countdown timer associated with a first initial value and a first timer-interval of a first time scale, and a second countdown timer associated with a second initial value and a second timer-interval of a second time scale;

transmitting at least one first indication to the user equipment; and

transmitting at least one second indication to the user equipment.

40. An apparatus comprising:

at least one processor; and

at least one memory and computer program code;

the at least one memory and the computer program code is configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to perform a method according to any of claims 1 to 22.

41. An apparatus comprising:

at least one processor; and

at least one memory and computer program code; wherein

the at least one memory and the computer program code is configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to perform a method according to any of claims 23 to 34.

42. An apparatus comprising means for performing a method according to any of claims 1 to 22 or performing a method according to any of claims 23 to 34.

43. A computer program product encoding instructions for performing a process including a method according to any of claims 1 to 22 or performing a process including a method according to any of claims 23 to 34.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium encoding instructions that, when executed in hardware, perform a process including a method according to any of claims 1 to 22 or perform a process including a method according to any of claims 23 to 34.
