Abstract

A method of cooling a boil off gas stream from a liquefied cargo (50a) in a floating transportation vessel is described. The method comprises: compressing a boil off gas stream in two or more stages of compression to provide a compressed BOG discharge stream; cooling the compressed BOG discharge stream against one or more first coolant streams to provide a first cooled compressed BOG stream; cooling the first cooled compressed BOG stream against at least one second coolant stream to provide a second cooled compressed BOG stream; providing a vessel fuel stream from the liquefied cargo; using the vessel fuel stream as a coolant stream to cool either the compressed BOG discharge stream, or the first cooled compressed BOG stream, or both said streams.

L'invention concerne un procédé de refroidissement d'un flux de gaz d'évaporation provenant d'une cargaison liquide (50a) dans un navire de transport flottant. Le procédé comprend : la compression d'un flux de gaz d'évaporation dans au moins deux étages de compression pour fournir un flux de décharge de BOG comprimé; le refroidissement du flux de décharge de BOG comprimé contre un ou plusieurs premiers flux de fluide de refroidissement pour fournir un premier flux de BOG comprimé refroidi; le refroidissement du premier flux de BOG comprimé refroidi contre au moins un second flux de fluide de refroidissement pour fournir un second flux de BOG comprimé refroidi; la fourniture d'un flux de carburant de récipient à partir de la cargaison liquide; l'utilisation du flux de combustible de récipient en tant que flux de fluide de refroidissement pour refroidir soit le flux de décharge de BOG comprimé, soit le premier flux de BOG comprimé refroidi, ou les deux.
