Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing an expanded rigid foam with sealed pores (1), comprising at least the following steps: a) preparing a mixture containing at least: an anionic polymer capable of ionotropic gelification; a foaming agent; a source of multivalent cations, the multivalent cations not being released into the mixture a); and a solvent; b) stirring the mixture in order to produce a foam; c) adding to the foam a compound capable of releasing an adequate quantity of protons in order to release the multivalent cations, such that the anionic polymer gelifies in an ionotropic manner; d) drying the foam. The invention also relates to a foam (1) obtained in this manner and to an object (for example, packaging, heat insulating or flame-retardant material) which is made from said foam (1).

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'une mousse expansée, rigide, à porosité fermée (1), comprenant au moins les étapes suivantes : a) on prépare un mélange qui contient au moins : un polymère anionique apte à la gélification ionotropique; un agent moussant; une source de cations multivalents, lesdits cations multivalents n'étant pas libérés dans le mélange a); et un solvant; b) on agite le mélange de manière à obtenir une mousse; c) on ajoute à la mousse un composé capable de libérer des protons en quantité suffisante pour libérer lesdits cations multivalents de telle sorte que le polymère anionique gélifie de manière ionotropique; d) on sèche la mousse. L'invention concerne aussi une mousse (1) ainsi obtenue et un objet (par exemple emballage, matériau isolant thermique ou à retard de flammes) qui est réalisé à partir de cette mousse (1).
