CLAIMS

1. A portable communication object (10), the object (10) comprising a stiff core (14, 14a, 14b) centred around an object centre point (OCP), elements encapsulated by the stiff core (14, 14a, lb) and an elastic material layer (12, 12a, 12b) surrounding the stiff core (14, 14a, 14b), said encapsulated elements comprising circuitry (20) with sensor and wireless communication functionality.

The portable communication object (10) according to claim 1, where the stiff core (14, 14a, 14b) stretches from the object centre point (OCP) to a distance at a core radius (Rc) from the object centre point (OCP) and the elastic material layer (12, 12a, 12b) stretches between a first inner radius (Ri) coinciding with the core radius (Rc) and a second outer radius (Ro) from the object centre point (OCP), where the second outer radius (Ro) is in the range of 1 - 1. 5 times higher than the first inner radius (Ri) and preferably 1. 3 times higher than the first inner radius (Ri).

3. The portable communication object (10) according to claim 2,

wherein the stiff core with enclosed elements has a point of inertia that coincides with the object centre point.

4. The portable communication object (10) according to any of claims 1 - 3, wherein the stiff core is made of epoxy resin.

5. The portable communication object (10) according to any of claims 1 - 4, wherein the elastic material of the elastic material layer is polyurethane (foam).

6. The portable communication object (10) according to claim 5,

wherein the elastic material has a shore C hardness of 60 C - 70 C.

7. The portable communication object (10) according to any previous claim, wherein the encapsulated elements comprises a circuit board (16) on which the circuitry (20) is placed and having an antenna (22) stretching along at least a part of the perimeter of the circuit board.

8. The portable communication object (10) according to claim 7,

wherein the antenna stretches along more than half of the perimeter.

9. The portable communication object (10) according to claims 7 or 8, further comprising cut-outs in the stiff core adjacent and aligned with the antenna.

10. The portable communication object (10) according to any of claims 7 - 9, the enclosed elements further comprising a power source (18) for powering the circuitry (20).

11. The portable communication object (10) according to claim 10,

wherein the circuit board has a board centre point (BCP).

12. The portable communication object (10) according to claim 11,

wherein an axis (A) is defined perpendicular to the board and through the board centre point (BCD) and the distance between the antenna (22) and the axis (A) is higher than the distance between any point of the power source (18) and the axis (A).

13ยท The portable communication object (10) according to any of claims 10 - 12, wherein the circuitry (20) and antenna (22) are provided on one side of the circuit board (16) and the power source (18) is placed on the opposite side of the circuit board (16).

The portable communication object (10) according to any of claims 10 - 13, further comprising a first charging connector (26) at or in the stiff core (14) and an opening (24) for mating a second charging connector (38) of a charger (30), said opening (24) stretching through the elastic material layer (12) to the first charging connector (26).

15. The portable communication object (10) according to claim 14, wherein the first charging connector (26) is placed at the surface of the stiff core (14) and connected to the power source (18) via wiring (28) stretching from the first charging connector (26) to the circuit board (16).

16. The portable communication object (10) according to claim 14, wherein the first charging connector (26) is placed on the circuit board (16) and the opening (24) stretches from the surface of the object to the circuit board.

17. The portable communication object (10) according to any of claims 14 - 16 when depending on claim 11, wherein the first charging connector is centred around an axis defined through the object centre point (OCP) and the board centre point (BCP).

A charger (30) for a portable communication object (10) according to any of claims 14 - 17, the portable communication object being equipped with a first charging connector (26), the charger (30) comprising a second charging connector (38), a charger adapter (32) and a stiff rod (36) interconnecting the second charging connector (38) with the charger adapter (32), the stiff rod (36)being shaped to be inserted in and fit in an opening (24) stretching from the surface of the portable communication object (10) to the first charging connector (26) and for allowing mating the first and second charging connectors with each other.
