This innovation describes methods for an NR-based, LEO Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) to improve handover process by sending broadcast or group-cast downlink handover (HO) Command message to all (or group of) UEs in the coverage area (cell or beam-spot) of the LEO satellite. Subsequently, on receiving the broadcast (or group-cast) HO Command message, all the UEs in the source cell transmit HO Complete message to the source cell of the LEO-NTN. In order to reduce or avoid heavy Random Access (RA), generating from all the UEs, the LEO-NTN can either send Contention Free Random Access (CFRA), or instruct the UE to perform a random backoff before sending the uplink HO Complete message. Moreover, improvements to configure Conditional Handover (CHO) and delaying the transmission of HO Complete message are also provided.

L'invention concerne des procédés destinés à des réseaux non terrestres (NTN) LEO basés sur NR qui permettent d'améliorer un processus de transfert par l'envoi d'un message de commande de transfert (HO) de liaison descendante de diffusion ou de diffusion de groupe à tous les UE (ou à un groupe d'UE) dans la zone de couverture (cellule ou point de faisceau) du satellite LEO. Par la suite, lors de la réception du message de commande HO de diffusion (ou de diffusion de groupe), tous les UE dans la cellule source transmettent un message de réussite de transfert à la cellule source du réseau NTN LEO. Afin de réduire ou d'éviter la génération d'un accès aléatoire (RA) lourd à partir de tous les UE, le réseau NTN LEO peut soit envoyer un accès aléatoire sans contention (CFRA) soit ordonner à l'UE d'effectuer une réduction de puissance aléatoire avant d'envoyer le message de réussite de transfert de liaison montante. De plus, l'invention concerne également des améliorations pour configurer un transfert conditionnel (CHO) et retarder la transmission d'un message de réussite de transfert.
