Pyro-hydrometallurgical methods are described to economically and environmentally recover a target metal from iron slag or steel slag. For instance, the method can enable subjecting an iron or steel slag feed to acid-baking with an acid to produce a dried mixture comprising at least one soluble metal salts, then subjecting the dried mixture to water leaching to an aqueous solution comprising an aqueous leachate rich in said target metal and solid residues and subsequently separating the aqueous leachate rich in said target metal from the solid residues. This acid-baking water-leaching method facilitates efficient recovery of target metal compared to conventional methods.

La présente invention concerne des procédés pyro-hydrométallurgiques qui permettent de récupérer de manière économique et écologique un métal cible à partir de laitier de fonte ou de laitier d'acier. Par exemple, le procédé peut consister à soumettre une charge de laitier de fonte ou d'acier à une cuisson acide avec un acide pour produire un mélange séché comprenant au moins un sel métallique soluble, puis à soumettre le mélange séché à une lixiviation à l'eau dans une solution aqueuse comprenant un lixiviat aqueux riche en métal cible et résidus solides, puis à séparer le lixiviat aqueux riche en métal cible des résidus solides. Ce procédé de lixiviation à l'eau par cuisson acide facilite la récupération efficace du métal cible par comparaison avec les procédés classiques.
