Abstract

An active docking station enables improved operation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The docking station comprises: a base structure which secures the station to a mounting location; a robotic motion system connected to the base structure; a capture mechanism connected to the robotic motion system, where the robotic motion system moves the capture mechanism in at least two dimensions to first capture a UAV and then reposition a captured UAV relative to the base structure; and at least one of: an electrical connection for recharging electric UAVs, a mechanism for replacing batteries of electric UAVs, or pumps and mechanisms for refuelling UAVs with consumable fuel such as liquids or pressurised gases.

Selon la présente invention, une station d'accueil active permet un fonctionnement amélioré de véhicules aériens sans pilote (UAV). La station d'accueil comprend : une structure de base qui fixe la station à un emplacement de montage; un système de mouvement robotique relié à la structure de base; un mécanisme de capture relié au système de mouvement robotique, le système de mouvement robotique déplaçant le mécanisme de capture dans au moins deux dimensions afin de capturer d'abord un UAV, puis de repositionner un UAV capturé par rapport à la structure de base; et : une connexion électrique destinée à recharger des UAV électriques, et/ou un mécanisme destiné à remplacer des batteries d'UAV électriques, et/ou des pompes et des mécanismes destinés à ravitailler des UAV en carburant consommable tel que des liquides ou des gaz sous pression.
