In the event of a TDM failure, the associated computing device is either discarded or sent back to an original equipment manufacturer's facility for refurbishment. Field replacement of TDMs is typically not possible due to the lack of a secure process to recalibrate the touch controller to function properly with a replacement TDM. The presently disclosed systems and methods enable secure recalibration of a touch controller within a computing device to operate correctly with a new TDM field installed in the computing device. More specifically, the presently disclosed systems and methods provide a mechanism for detecting that a TDM has been field replaced, unlocking calibration data, performing a calibration process, and locking the new calibration data.

En cas de panne d'un module d'affichage tactile (TDM), le dispositif informatique associé est soit mis au rebut soit renvoyé à une installation de fabricant d'équipement d'origine pour être remis à neuf. Le remplacement sur site des TDM n'est généralement pas possible en raison de l'absence d'un processus sécurisé pour réétalonner le contrôleur tactile pour qu'il fonctionne correctement avec un TDM de remplacement. La présente invention porte sur des systèmes et des procédés qui permettent un réétalonnage sécurisé d'un contrôleur tactile à l'intérieur d'un dispositif informatique pour qu'il fonctionne correctement avec un nouveau TDM installé sur site dans le dispositif informatique. Plus précisément, les systèmes et les procédés de la présente invention procurent un mécanisme pour détecter qu'un TDM a été remplacé sur site, déverrouiller des données d'étalonnage, effectuer un processus d'étalonnage, et verrouiller les nouvelles données d'étalonnage.
