A method for providing frequency selective surface zoning includes selecting a location for positioning a frequency selective surface (FSS) panel along a support arm of a reflector antenna system, and positioning a second feed horn on the support arm on an opposite side of the FSS panel. A number of unit cells are used to populate the FSS panel, and metallic patterns are formed on each unit cell. Multiple zones are subsequently defined on the surface of the FSS panel. Each zone is optimized for a predetermined range of incident angles.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de fournir un zonage de surface sélective en fréquence qui consiste à sélectionner un emplacement pour positionner un panneau de surface sélective en fréquence (FSS) le long d'un bras de support d'un système d'antenne à réflecteur, et à positionner un second cornet d'alimentation sur le bras de support sur un côté opposé du panneau de FSS. Un certain nombre de cellules unitaires sont utilisées pour peupler le panneau de FSS, et des motifs métalliques sont formés sur chaque cellule unitaire. De multiples zones sont ensuite délimitées sur la surface du panneau de FSS. Chaque zone est optimisée pour une plage prédéfinie d'angles incidents.
