Abstract

A technique for managing communications over a network maintains multiple network paths simultaneously, exchanging the same data redundantly through the network paths and allowing a receiver to select one of the network paths as its source of data. In the event that a first, currently-selected network path becomes weak, for example, the receiver automatically and seamlessly switches its source of data to a second network path, while the first network path remains operational.

L'invention concerne une technique de gestion de communications sur un réseau qui maintient simultanément de multiples chemins de réseau, échangeant les mêmes données de manière redondante par l'intermédiaire des chemins de réseau et permettant à un récepteur de sélectionner l'un des chemins de réseau en tant que sa source de données. Dans le cas dans lequel un premier chemin de réseau couramment sélectionné s'affaiblit, par exemple, le récepteur commute automatiquement et en continu sa source de données vers un second chemin de réseau, tandis que le premier chemin de réseau demeure opérationnel.
