Methods for determining a radius of gyration of a particle in solution using a light scattering detector are provided. The method may include passing the solution through a flowpath in a sample cell, determining respective angular normalization factors for first and second angles of the detector, obtaining a first scattering intensity of the particle in solution at the first angle, obtaining a second scattering intensity of the particle in solution at the second angle, obtaining a 10° scattering intensity of the particle in solution at an angle of about 10°, determining a first particle scattering factor, determining a second particle scattering factor, plotting an angular dissymmetry plot, fitting a line to the angular dissymmetry plot, determining a slope of the line at a selected location on the line, determining the radius of gyration of the particle in solution from the slope of the line, and outputting the radius of gyration.

L'invention concerne des procédés de détermination d'un rayon de giration d'une particule en solution à l'aide d'un détecteur de diffusion de lumière. Le procédé peut consister à faire passer la solution dans un trajet d'écoulement d'une cellule d'échantillon, à déterminer les facteurs de normalisation angulaire respectifs pour des premier et second angles du détecteur, à obtenir une première intensité de diffusion de la particule en solution au premier angle, à obtenir une seconde intensité de diffusion de la particule en solution au second angle, à obtenir une intensité de diffusion de 10° de la particule en solution à un angle d'environ 10°, à déterminer un premier facteur de diffusion de particules, à déterminer un second facteur de diffusion de particules, à tracer un graphique de dissymétrie angulaire, à ajuster une ligne au graphique de dissymétrie angulaire, à déterminer une pente de la ligne à un emplacement sélectionné sur la ligne, à déterminer le rayon de giration de la particule en solution à partir de la pente de la ligne et à délivrer le rayon de giration.
