This negative electrode material for a lithium ion secondary cell includes carbonaceous particles that have a BET-method specific surface area (water-vapor-adsorption specific surface area) of 0.095 m2/g or less as calculated from the amount of water vapor adsorbed when the relative pressure is 0.05-0.12.

Le matériau d'électrode négative pour batterie secondaire au lithium-ion de l'invention contient des particules carbonées qui présentent une surface spécifique de méthode BET (surface spécifique d'adsorption de vapeur d'eau) calculée à partir d'une quantité d'adsorption de vapeur d'eau lorsque la pression relative est comprise entre 0,05 et 0,12, inférieure ou égale à 0,095m/g.
