There is provided a system of monitoring a flow in a fluid transport channel (FTC), comprising: a monitoring payload comprising a fluid surface detector (FSD), a monitoring payload to be suspended by a suspension band and adapted, responsive to detecting a flow surface by the FSD, to notify a lifting unit of the detection and perform a monitoring action on the flow; and a processor-based lifting unit to be affixed in a vertical access shaft above the FTC and responsive to receipt of a notification of a detection of the surface of the flow by the FSD, to position the monitoring payload in accordance with a pre-known surface-relative vertical monitoring range, by performing one of: i) halting extension of the band, ii) retracting the suspension band, and iii) further extending the band, and to retract the band, thereby raising the monitoring payload to a standby position above the flow surface.

L'invention concerne un système de surveillance d'écoulement dans un canal de transport de fluide (CTF), comprenant : une charge utile de surveillance comportant un détecteur de surface de fluide (DSF), une charge utile de surveillance devant être suspendue par une sangle de suspension et conçue, en réponse à la détection d'une surface d'écoulement par le DSF, pour notifier à une unité de levage de la détection et effectuer une action de surveillance sur l'écoulement ; et une unité de levage équipée d'un processeur et destinée à être fixée dans un puits d'accès vertical au-dessus du CTF, et réagissant à la réception d'une notification de détection de la surface de l'écoulement par le DSF, pour positionner la charge utile de surveillance conformément à une plage de surveillance verticale relative à une surface prédéfinie, en effectuant l'une des opérations suivantes : i) l'arrêt de l'extension de la sangle, ii) la rétraction de la sangle de suspension, et iii) l'extension supplémentaire de la sangle, et la rétraction de la sangle, ce qui permet d'élever la charge utile de surveillance à une position d'attente au-dessus de la surface d'écoulement.
