An electromagnetic pulse detector (10) comprising an antenna (11) and a means for processing pulses (12), wherein the antenna (11) is configured to receive an electromagnetic pulse and to generate therefrom a dispersed electrical pulse, the means for processing pulses (12) being configured to operate on the dispersed electrical pulse. The reduced temporal burden on the means for processing pulses (12) facilitates relatively low cost signal processing. Particularly suited to detection of electromagnetic pulses over a wide geographic area.

L'invention concerne un détecteur d'impulsions électromagnétiques (10) comprenant une antenne (11) et un moyen de traitement d'impulsions (12), l'antenne (11) étant configurée pour recevoir une impulsion électromagnétique et pour générer à partir de celle-ci une impulsion électrique dispersée, le moyen de traitement d'impulsions (12) étant configuré pour fonctionner sur l'impulsion électrique dispersée. La charge temporelle réduite sur le moyen de traitement d'impulsions (12) facilite un traitement de signal de coût relativement faible. L'invention convient particulièrement à la détection d'impulsions électromagnétiques sur une large zone géographique.
